Oh, pfft, of course not. It's just easier to distinguish who has which cat, (we have quite the amount of kitties now) so that if anyone was interested in creating a plot with some character, they would be able to just look through some posts and find the member who owns that character. Alright, I won't be making too many cats anyway, so they'll probably be listed in my signature. x3
Are we allowed to use names that are already taken? AKA do I need to search and find out if the name I want is taken?

Well, you can't have the exact name of another character, even if they're in different clans, and you can only have the same prefix unless your character is in another clan. So basically, if I have Shadowclaw in TreeClan, then you can have Shadowwhatever in another clan, but not in TreeClan.

I do not use GIMP -- I have Adobe Photoshop CS4
I did try GIMP out once to see what it was like, but that didn't work out too well. o:
That's actually the answer I was hoping for, believe it or not. xD
Is the prefix Moss- taken by any cats? ( do you know? o.o )

&& Yes, GIMP is the best free program available if you want to mess around with images.
Paint Shop Pro (I think) is apparently really good, but I don't know if that's paid or free. :3
Photoshop CS / Photoshop Elements are the best if you're paying. x3 The company that makes them, Adobe, has many of their programs used in movie-making, posters you might see around, magazines (My school's magazine actually uses one of their programs, Indesign!) and so on and so forth. o:

Sure! Although we already have two kittypets in BreezeClan, so.. it's your decision. ;3 And I've tried Paint Tool SAI and Paint.Net, but I love GIMP out of them. |

Well I was planning on DarkClan or TreeClan, so no more outsiders for BreezeClan x3
Paint Tool SAI is a drawing application -- not very good for graphic art. /nods; My friend uses it for her drawings all the time, though, and they come out REALLY well.
Paint.Net I don't know much about so I can't say anything about it. o:
