Sandfur followed Horsestar and Tornshadow through an opening in the camp barrier, carefully starting down the gorge's steep, rocky paths.

Horsestar walked though the windy moor, Sandfur walking by his side. Turning to face the sandy she-cat, he meowed, "Where do you head first? Flower Patch, or down by the river?"

Sandfur cocked her head in a thoughtful expression for a moment, and then looked back at Horsestar. "Well, I guess it depends on where our paws lead us to." she mewed, amusement glittering in her forest green eyes. She gazed up at the sky, admiring the beatiful colors of the setting sun. "Doesn't it just want to make you sit down and stare at it for moons?" she asked the calico tom, her voice sounding distant.

Horsestar looked up as the stars shimmered over head. "Yes it does. When we were younger, Hawkpaw, and I would race each other at night, to see who was faster. Of corse, he would always win." a sigh of grief lingered in the calico's voice as he walked besides Sandfur, looking down at the ground.

Sandfur felt a stab of sympathy for the leader. She didn't really know what to say at times like this. "Well, you should always cherish the special moments you had with the ones you care about." she murmured, gazing at Horsestar with thoughtful eyes.

Horsestar nodded, raising in his head back up like a leader should. "At least Hawktalon has his father's eyes, and Icepath has his coat color. Everytime I looked at both of them at Gatherings, I see my brother's soul inside thiers." the calico stopped when they reached Flower Patch, each petal on every plant gleaming like colorfull stars.

Sandfur smiled and inhaled the sweet scent of flowers, holding her chin and tail up high. Casting a mischievious glance at Horsestar, she bolted into the flowers, petals flying up in the air as she zoomed past. Laughing, Sandfur slowed her pace to a prance, skipping among the flowers like she was an apprentice again. Her sand-colored pelt gleamed in the setting sun's light, making her forest green eyes even more brilliant as she rolled about in the Flower Patch.

Horsestar felt his heart beat faster as he watched Sandfur play in the flowers, her sandy-colored pelt glowing. Grinning in mischievious, the calcio raced past the she-cat, and kicked flowers all over her. "Race you to the end of Flower Patch!" he called, spirting away on his long legs.

Sandfur sat up straight and opened her jaws in a sarcastic gasp as Horsestar passed her. "As if!" she called, pelting after the large tom. Her sides were heaving by the time she reached his side. "Want to give up?" she asked between breathes, her muscles beginning to burn up in exhaustion.

"Not even close!" Horsestar meowed, his green eyes flashing as Sandfur caught up to his side. Inceasing his speed in his long legs, the calcio started passing Sandfur, until he was a yard in front of her. "I wasn't called Horseleg for nothing!" he called over his shoulder, his spotted fur ripping agasit the wind.
