"Don't thank me. Just follow your heart, and never stop believing in yourself. That's what keeps us wanting to live: the one thing in our lives that can change them forever." Smith meowed, his voice full of wisdom. He looked up at the darking sky as a cold breeze flew by. "We should both return to out housefolk. Goodnight Eliza, and," his green eyes grew serious with a hint of sadness. "Don't tell Tornshadow that I'm alive yet. When the time comes...I want to tell him myself why I left." with one last nod, the black-and-white tabby headed towards the fence that led to his house.

Smith left before Eliza could say goodbye. She swallowed. It would be hard not telling Tornshadow about Smith next time she saw him..... IF she saw him again. They didn't have a chance to discuss next time and place they would see each other. Eliza sighed sadly and hopped over her own fence, curling up on the cold patio.
((AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNGGGGSTYYYYYYYYYY! I like broody Eliza, she's fun))

Tornshadow stalked through the TwolegPlace, turning around corners and walking past countless sleeping monsters. When he reached Eliza's twoleg nest, he jumped onto the fence that bordered her garden and let out a loud mrrow. He hoped that she heard him, and would come out.

Smith was on top of the roof of his house when he heard a loud meow coming from the bordering fences. "What's going on now?" he asked himself, standing up slowly so he wouldn't fall. Padding to where the roof bent over to the other side to the backyard, he spotted a brown tabby tom perched on the fence. "That's strange...who is that one?" Smith asked himself, making sure he kept out of sight.

Eliza woke up with a start. She had heard a familiar mrow outside her garden fence and she stumbled up, feeling a little dizzy, but still ok enough to walk. She trotted over to the fence and poked her head through the loose board to see Tornshadow standing there.
"Hi Tornshadow!" she meowed, her high voice hiding a happy excited squeal of joy.

Tornshadow's heart warmed when he saw Eliza and quickly ran over to her. He wrapped himself around her and licked her ears lovingly. "Eliza.. I'm sorry, I'm so sorry for being a mousebrain.. please forgive me." he pleaded, shutting his eyes tight. Tornshadow didn't want Eliza to be mad at him with all his heart.

Eliza tilted her head and licked his cheek. "Sorry for what?"she asked, nuzzling under his chin. "I'm just happy that you came back. I thought you were mad at me..." she meowed, looking down shyly, feeling her cheeks warm up a bit.

Tornshadow opened his eyes and frowned down at Eliza. "Me? I would never be mad at you.." he purred, twining his tail with hers. He felt as though a heavy weight has been lifted from his shoulders, but not by much. He still had to decide wether to leave the clan. "Are you okay? I left you out in the cold.. I'm sorry.." he continued to apoligize.

Eliza smiled "I'm ok... especially now that you're here." she murmured then looked in her fence. "Let's try hiding under the porch. I'm sure no one will notice us there." she whispered, leading him under the deck.

Smith's eye lids lowered a little bit when Eliza told Tornshadow to follow her under the porch. "If that Alvin cat was to find out, he'll rip my son's ears off." he muttered quietly to himself as he laid down on the black roof top, almost blending in. Suddenly, the noisy sound of barking caught his attention. Looking into his backyard, Smith spotted the dog that lived with him, whom he learned was named GB, was digging a hole in the grass again. "That darm mutt."
