Pearlkit padded back out of the nursery, refreshed by her short nap. "Hey," she called over to Flamekit and Skullkit. "What's going on with Shadefur?" she asked after sitting down next to Flamekit. There seemed to be a lot of cats talking about her.

Flamekit pouted. "No, it's not your fault! My Mom is just really-overprotective." he mewed defiantly. He really hoped that he hadn't upset Skullkit. What if he hates him now? Flamekit stared down at his paws sadly.

"Flamekit?" the white kit looked at her brother who was sadly staring at him paws. Pearlkit rubbed against him in eforts to cheer the tom up, she wasn't sure what happened with Skullkit but it seemed to have upset him.

Flamekit looked up as his Sister came over to him. "Pearlkit? It's raining, why are you out here?" he squeaked, curious of her. His long-fur dripped with water and his body was shaking in the cold.

"Because I didn't want to miss out on anything." Pearlkit mewed, "But why don't we go back to the nursery. It looks like I'm not going to get any info about Shadefur," she huffed, shaking her short pelt to get the water off.

Flamekit didn't have a choice but to nod. "Sorry, Skullkit.." he mumbled as he and Pearlkit made their way back to the Nursery. The moment he stepped into the den, Goldenheart pulled him closer to her and covered him in licks. "Where have you been?! I was so worried about you!" she scolded.

Skullkit didn't respond. It was better if he remained alone. The rain soaked him to the bone and he shivered. "Mousedung...." he swore.

"Mother, its OK. Flamekits been with me," Pearlkit mewed, flashing a grin at her brother. The kit pressed up against her mother and squeaked, "I'm kinda hungry."

Moonstar followed close behind the cats carrying Shadefur. Her heart ached with worry for her clanmate as she clung on to life itself.
